Flashback to last weekend— VAAC had the opportunity to be part of the first expungement fair in Wayne County! Such a massive turnout!

Thousands of people with expungements in Wayne County showed up for Saturday’s Expungement Fair – and more than 50 attorneys and law students volunteered.

Thanks to a new bill that went into effect in 2021, many Michigan residents now have another chance to start again.

When speaking of the expungement fair, Michigan’s Attorney General, Dana Nessel, featured below with VAAC Chair, Daniel Jones shared that, “As important as it is to be accountable, it’s just as important that after they have served their time that they get another opportunity in life.” Watch the video of a story Fox 2 Detroit did about the event.
