VAAC is honored to join National Lifers of America, Inc. Macomb Chapter 1012 and community partners for Michigan’s Turning Point: A Call to Action Demanding Justice. This gathering will uplift the voices of families, advocates, and directly impacted loved ones fighting for change across Michigan.

The event will feature a wide-ranging panel discussion on criminal justice reform, legislative and judicial accountability, prosecution practices, mental health awareness, and the impact the system has on families and communities. Participants will also hear directly from incarcerated individuals calling in to share their experiences.

VAAC will be present to speak about building civic power, including how voting and ballot initiatives give communities tools to push for the justice and accountability we need. We’ll also be sharing vital information about voting rights for returning citizens, people affected by the legal system, and anyone unsure of their eligibility.
