We are a nonpartisan grassroots coalition committed to removing voting barriers for individuals impacted by the criminal legal system. We believe democracy works best when it includes everyone, and our mission is to ensure that all Michiganders—regardless of circumstance—have the access and support they need to vote.
Our donors have helped us drive meaningful change this year. Thanks to their support, VAAC has:
- Knocked on doors across Michigan, engaging with 8.71K voters and sharing critical information about their rights.
- Made 892,253 phone calls to provide resources on voter registration, polling locations, and absentee voting.
- Registered 190 new voters, many of whom are returning citizens eager to participate in democracy.
- Provided 440 rides to polling stations, ensuring that transportation was not a barrier to participation.
- Hosted educational events in shelters, reentry centers, and community hubs to connect individuals with voting resources and rights education.
These efforts are just the beginning. There is still much work to do to address systemic barriers to voting and ensure that every voice is heard. By supporting VAAC, you’re standing up for a democracy that is inclusive, equitable, and accessible to all. Make a gift today.
