On August 8, 2026, the League of Women Voters of Michigan will participate in a nationwide day of civic action to mark the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and to increase voter engagement, turnout, and education.
LWVMI will host a live & virtual screening of Three Marches, Two Sisters, One Bridge, a documentary about the Selma Foot Soldiers’ fight for voting rights in 1965
Event from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Ann Arbor, 4001 AA Saline Road
Virtual screening at 5 p.m. on August 8.
6:00 – Potluck dinner – please bring a dish to share that serves around 8 people. *Include a card with a list of ingredients. Anything you want to bring is fine! Tableware and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided.
6:45 – Panel discussion led by Angela Davenport and VAAC ambassadors
