Join Safe & Just Michigan for an evening celebrating “5 Years of Fresh Starts”—marking the fifth anniversary of Michigan’s landmark Clean Slate laws on Thursday. September 3rd. As you know since their passage, these reforms have helped thousands of Michiganders move beyond the barriers of a criminal record and access new opportunities in employment, housing, and education.

Guests will hear from our special guest speaker, CEO of the Clean Slate Initiative, Sheena Meade, who will reflect on the impact of Clean Slate and the power of second chances in transforming lives and strengthening communities.

Registration will open at 6 p.m., with our program beginning at 6:20 and concluding at 7:30 p.m., with hors d’oeuvres and light refreshments served throughout the evening. We hope you’ll join advocates, community leaders, supporters, and partners as we celebrate five years of Clean Slate, recognize this year’s award recipients, and look ahead to the work still to come.
