VAAC is joining with community partners for a Freedom Rally for Krystal Clark and women incarcerated at Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility on Saturday, July 4, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility.

The rally is focused on concerns about environmental conditions, medical care, and the treatment of medically vulnerable women at the facility.

Community organizations, advocacy groups, faith leaders, grassroots partners, and residents are invited to attend.

What the rally is calling for

The Krystal Clark Freedom Team is calling on the Michigan Department of Corrections to release environmental testing records, identify locations where elevated findings were reported, disclose laboratory reports and related documentation, and provide information about medical and housing plans for Krystal Clark.

The call for action also includes an immediate independent medical review of Clark’s condition and medical release or another placement where she can receive care.
