Join VAAC and Ypsilanti District Library for voter education, ID support, and community resources
Having the right identification should never stand between you and your right to vote. That’s why Voting Access for All is proud to co-host Claim Your ID, Claim Your Power with the Ypsilanti District Library during National Voter Registration Week. This community event is designed to remove barriers, provide resources, and ensure every resident has what they need to fully participate in democracy.
On Wednesday, October 8, from 3–6 PM at the Ypsilanti District Library–Michigan Avenue Branch, join us for an afternoon of connection and empowerment. The Michigan Department of State Mobile Unit will be on-site to issue Michigan State IDs. For those who qualify, the Library Care Coordination Program will cover the full cost of IDs—removing one of the biggest obstacles to full civic participation.
Alongside ID services, attendees will also find:
- Voter education and registration resources
- Community support services
- Clothing giveaway
- Free toiletries
Events like this reflect VAAC’s mission to break down barriers to voting and ensure that everyone’s voice is heard.
