VAAC Friday Community Meetings

VAAC Friday Community Meetings are a weekly space for connection, updates, and shared learning.

We bring together directly impacted people, organizers, advocates, and community members across Michigan to talk about voting access, the criminal legal system, and the issues shaping our lives and communities.

Each week we focus on timely topics including policy changes, community organizing, and civic education. There is always space for questions, conversation, and strategy.

💰 Where does Michigan’s money really go?
📊 What’s in the Governor’s, House, and Senate budgets?
📢 How do those choices shape reentry, housing, voting access, and more?
Join VAAC, MI-CEMI, and the Wisdom Institute Detroit on Friday, September 12 as Tony Gant & Chuck Warpehoski from Michigan Collaborative to End Mass Incarceration break down Michigan’s state budget—what it funds, who makes the decisions, and how it affects justice-impacted communities.
