All Registered Michigan voters can go to the polls on Election Day, February 27, 2024 to choose a nominee for either the Democratic or Republican primary. In addition, there are several ways to vote before election day.
But first, you need to register.
The deadline to register by mail or online is February 12, 2024.
You can also register in person at your city clerk’s office up until and including election day, February 27th, 2024. Note that if you register on election day, you must vote at the clerk’s office. You cannot go to your local polling place.
Your options for voting before election day are:
- Request an absentee ballot to be mailed to you. Ballots are available beginning January 28, 2024. You can also sign up to be on the permanent absentee ballot list and have your ballot automatically mailed to you each election. For more information about absentee voting, visit https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/Home/VoteAtHome
- Beginning January 18, 2024, you can go to your clerk’s office in person to request an absentee ballot. Take it home to return later, or fill it out there and submit while at the clerk’s office.
- Vote in-person at an early voting site from February 17, 2024 through February 25, 2024. Early voting is new this year. Early voting sites operate similarly to an Election Day polling location but can be set up to serve voters from more than one city or township. Early voting sites can also serve more voters than an Election Day polling location can serve.
