Connecting Dedicated Individuals Across Michigan
In communities all over Michigan, dedicated individuals are working tirelessly to bring positive change. They organize community violence intervention, advocate for police accountability, and build restorative justice alternatives, among other transformative efforts.
Despite the progress, our collective impact can be even greater with stronger connections between groups working in different communities and pursuing different solutions. Too often, organizations find themselves reinventing the wheel and limiting coordination efforts. But it doesn’t have to be this way!
Unlocking the Full Potential
The Michigan Collaborative to End Mass Incarceration, along with our partners – the Detroit Justice Center, Friends of Restorative Justice, Emergent Justice, and the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion – is proud to announce the kick off session to the MI Learning Community: Bridging Connections and Building Alternatives to Incarceration.
Empowering You to Make a Difference
Our Learning Community is designed to empower you and your organization in various ways:
1. Sharing Resources: Say goodbye to reinventing the wheel! Connect with peers and share public education materials, strategies for addressing opposition, and data analysis approaches.
2. Learning from Experts: Gain valuable insights from both national and Michigan-based practitioners who will share proven strategies and tactics.
3. Building a Supportive Network: Join a supportive community of peers from all over the state. Collaborate, exchange ideas, and create a context for rich strategy discussions.
4. Connecting Local Experience to State Policy: Your local-level experience matters. The Learning Community provides a platform to connect your insights with broader state policy discussions.
