VAAC will be out across Michigan over the next several days, sharing voter education and registration support, connecting with community members, and working with partners to make accurate voting information easier to find.

This week takes us from East Lansing to Detroit, Plymouth, Sterling Heights, and Ypsilanti. Here’s where you can find VAAC.

Friday, September 25: Michigan Student Vote Summit

VAAC is heading to Michigan State University for the 2026 Michigan Student Vote Summit, a day-long gathering of nonpartisan student vote leaders from across Michigan.

The summit will include hands-on training, speakers, networking, and opportunities for students and organizations to build skills and partnerships ahead of the November election.

VAAC will present “The Vote, The Truth, and The AI: How to Spot AI Election Threats,” focused on helping participants recognize AI-related threats to accurate election information.

Saturday, September 26: Pope Francis Center Voter Education and Registration

VAAC will be at the Pope Francis Center, 438 Saint Antoine St. in Detroit, from 9:00–11:00 AM, bringing voter education and registration support directly to people served by the shelter.

This visit is part of VAAC’s ongoing work with shelters and social service organizations to make sure people experiencing housing instability have access to clear, practical voting information and support.

Saturday, September 26: Perfecting Church Expungement Fair

VAAC will be at the Perfecting Church Expungement Fair in Detroit, sharing voter education and resources with attendees.

The expungement fair is hosted by the Michigan Department of Attorney General, Michigan State Police, Safe & Just Michigan, and Perfecting Community Care Center. Registration is available for people seeking expungement assistance, and eligibility requirements apply.

VAAC is not hosting the expungement fair, so questions about expungement eligibility or services should be directed to the event organizers.

Sunday, September 27: Michigan Democracy Fair and Rally

Find VAAC in Plymouth at the Michigan Democracy Fair and Rally at Phoenix Mill.

The family-friendly Democracy Fair runs from 1:00 to 5:00 PM and will include food trucks and activities for children and families. A Rally for Democracy will take place at the same location from 2:00 to 3:00 PM.

Monday, September 28: Shop Talks Community Town Hall

The next Shop Talks Community Town Hall is coming to Sterling Heights.

Shop Talks is focused on bringing accurate, nonpartisan voter information into places people already know and trust, including barbershops, salons, nail shops, laundromats, gas stations, restaurants, and other neighborhood businesses.

Everyone is invited to the roundtable to learn more about the Shop Talks strategy, share ideas, and talk about how local businesses can help connect people with accurate voting information.

Tuesday, September 29: ID Clinic and Resource Fair in Ypsilanti

VAAC will be back in Ypsilanti for a Pull Up & Plug In Resource Fair and ID Clinic, providing voter education and registration support.

The Michigan Department of State will be on site providing Michigan State ID services, and the full cost of state IDs will be covered for people who qualify. Attendees seeking ID services should bring original documents. Copies will not be accepted.

Before attending, review the Michigan Secretary of State’s Preparing for Your Mobile Office Visit checklist so you know which documents you may need to bring.
