Early voting starts July 26. Know your rights and help others do the same
At VAAC, we fight every day to make sure every eligible Michigander has a clear path to the ballot — no matter your background, record, or life circumstances. And here’s the truth: you can vote in Michigan, even if you’re on probation or parole, lack stable housing, don’t have a Michigan ID, or are awaiting sentencing. The law is clear — and your vote still counts.
Key dates:
August 5 is Primary Election Day.
July 22 is the last day to return your ballot by mail.
July 26 is the first day of in-person early voting in Detroit, Pontiac, Southfield, and more communities.
