Voting access, jail-based disenfranchisement & Michigan’s Road to Restoration
Our biweekly VAAC Community Meetings are a space where directly impacted people, organizers, and advocates come together to learn, share, and strategize for change. On Friday, July 11, we’re honored to welcome Khyla D. Craine, J.D., Chief Legal Director for the Michigan Department of State, for an important discussion on voting access and legal system barriers.

Khyla will share updates on:
- Legal system impacts on voter participation — and what can be done about it
- Voting access for people held in county jails
- Michigan’s Road to Restoration events, helping people regain ID and voting access
You’ll also have space to ask questions and connect with others working for change.
