The Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights at Wayne State University, in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University, has launched The Beacon Project—a critical effort to track the impact of federal policies on communities in Detroit.
Over the past several years, executive orders and policy decisions have reshaped funding, hiring practices, and diversity programs across the country. Now, we need your help to document how these changes have affected our communities.
Have You Been Affected?
If you or someone you know has experienced the effects of:
✔️ Federal hiring freezes
✔️ Cuts to federal funding for programs and services
✔️ Termination of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives
… your voice matters.
The 5-minute survey is anonymous and secure—but its impact will be powerful. By sharing your experiences, you can help researchers and advocates fight for policies that truly support Detroit communities.

We need as many responses as possible to paint an accurate picture of the impact. Please share this survey widely with your networks.
