The State of The Young (SOTY) Initiative
Marking the 60th anniversary of the Freedom Summer, YVAC is continuing the legacy of freedom fighters by launching the State of the Young Listening Tour (SOTY) by traveling across the Midwest and South, bringing mutual aid, political education, and resources to Black and Brown youth. Our SOTY tool (launched in 2021) is the guiding star to understand the needs of the youth and families we serve by asking the very simple questions: What do you care about, and what do you need?
