I applied for an apartment 3 days ago and I was denied for something I did when I was 17 in 1988. I need help to get this off. I need somewhere to live., How is this still on my record.
Robert, it’s really frustrating when someone makes a decision about us based solely on a single issue so long ago. This has happened to me as well. Expungement is one way to address this problem. Another is through legislation: I’m hopeful that we can get bills passed that will make it easier to find basics like housing and employment without undue prejudice getting in the way.
