And remind them that we are still waiting for them to take action on SB493 and allow the House Government Operations Committee to hold a hearing. Remind him that he holds the power and ability to allow the House to hold the SB493 hearing and that Oversight, Transparency and Accountability—pillars of a democratic society—are essential in prisons and jails where daily operations are overwhelmingly hidden from the public eye. Governor Whitmer Messaging: Ask Governor Whitmer and her staff if they received your message? Ask when she will respond? Ask her to take a stand on behalf of some of Michigan’s most vulnerable families and individuals.
