Screening of “Behind Our Walls” Set for March 5, 2024 in Grand Rapids

Behind Our Walls

Crossroads Prison Ministries and Humanity for Prisoners present Behind Our Walls, recipient of the 2023 Grand Rapids Film Festival‘s Best Documentary Award, at Monroe Community Church, 1020 Monroe Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, on Tuesday, March 5th at 7:00 pm. This film tells the story of eight Michigan prisoners in Handlon Correctional Facility and the educational program that brought them together, the Calvin Prison Initiative. This is a free screening, as there is no cost to attend.

Crossroads Prison Ministries connects people in prisons with mentors from churches to study God’s word together through our mail-based study program. Unlikely friendships emerge as mentors share encouraging feedback and write letters with every lesson. For many students, their Crossroads lessons and letters are the only mail they receive.

Humanity for Prisoners is a non-profit organization that has been in existence for 22 years and has assisted some 10,000 Michigan prisoners. HFP president, Mark Hartman, will also show a short film about the work and mission of HFP.
