A package of Michigan Senate Bills 321–325, introduced on may 3rd, 2023 would allow individuals who are incarcerated in Michigan to petition a judge for a reduction of their sentence after serving at least 10 years in prison. Corresponding House legislation is expected to soon be introduced.  VAAC members Chuck Warpehoski (MI-CEMI) and Bonnie Zabel (Nation Outside) were interviewed for this story in the Michigan Advance.
