For three days from 9/16-18, Michigan organizations and activists came together from across the state for @BlackVotersMtr Partner Convening We came together to increase power in our communities, because EFFECTIVE VOTING ALLOWS A COMMUNITY TO DETERMINE ITS OWN DESTINY. #mivotemivoice

VAAC member, Percy Glover spoke to the group with these eloquent words, “Voting is a constitutional right!  That right is not lost for people residing in a jail in Michigan.  Pretrial detainees  resting in a Michigan jail are able to vote by a “vote by mail in jail” process or an in-person absentee ballot process.  In 2022, no one should lose their constitutional access to a ballot!”
