Join Detroit Action at our Black August event where we will be reimagining a world through an abolitionist point of view and healing justice policies. For generations, Black and Brown communities have felt the negative impact of living under a violent police state that’s why we want to envision a world outside of surveillance and mass incarceration. This Black August celebration will have games, collective art projects, performances and more. This will be a family friendly event in coordination with Southwest Fest on Saturday, August 27th from 2pm-8pm at the Senate Theater 6424 Michigan Ave, Detroit.
