VAAC Friday Community Meetings: Jail Voting in Focus

VAAC Friday Community Meetings are a weekly space for connection, updates, and shared learning.

We bring together directly impacted people, organizers, advocates, and community members across Michigan to talk about voting access, the criminal legal system, and the issues shaping our lives and communities.

Each week, we focus on timely topics including policy changes, community organizing, and civic education. There is always space for questions, conversation, and strategy.

On Friday, June 20th, join VAAC and the Michigan Roundtable for Just Communities for a conversation on expanding jail voting access, and how the I.G.N.I.T.E. program is using education and job training to reduce recidivism, disrupt generational incarceration, and build pathways to reentry with Genesee County Sheriff Christopher R. Swanson.
