4th Annual Community Violence Intervention Summit

Mark your calendars for the 4th Annual Community Violence Intervention Summit on April 21st!

This year’s theme, “One Mission, Many Hands,” reflects the Community Violence Intervention Team’s collective commitment to supporting and uplifting young people through collaboration and community-driven strategies.

The purpose of this summit is to educate, inspire, and equip community members, professionals, and youth with tools, strategies, and collaborative opportunities to reduce violence, promote healing, and strengthen communities. This two-day summit will include:

Day 1: Youth Session (8am-2pm) – Focused on youth empowerment, leadership development, and the critical role young people play in creating safer neighborhoods.

Day 2: Adult Session – Centered on systems change, community collaboration, trauma-informed approaches, and sustainable violence-prevention strategies.

Each day will welcome community members, law enforcement, mental health specialists, medical providers, educators, and the general public. All are invited to attend and engage.

Lauren Fardig-Diop, our Metro Detroit Restorative Justice Center Program Manager, will be facilitating a breakout session during the morning session on Youth Day at 10am.
