VAAC Friday Community Meeting: Breaking Down Michigan’s 2027 Budget

Join Voting Access for All Coalition (VAAC) for our next Friday Community Meeting as we take a closer look at Michigan’s proposed 2027 state budget and what it means for our communities.

State budgets reflect priorities and show whether our communities are being invested in.

Last month, Governor Gretchen Whitmer released her eighth and final executive budget proposal. At a time of national economic uncertainty, rising costs, and federal cuts to programs like Medicaid and SNAP, the administration has described this balanced proposal as building on Michigan’s recent record of bipartisan progress.

But what does it actually mean for our communities?

During this conversation, we will break down what is included in the proposed budget, where funding is being directed, and how these decisions could impact housing, education, public safety, workforce opportunities, and community well-being across Michigan.

We are pleased to welcome Jayme Vosovic, Community Engagement Director at the Michigan League for Public Policy, who will help guide the discussion and provide insights into the state budget and its implications.

Community members are invited to join the conversation, ask questions, and learn more about how state budget decisions shape everyday life across Michigan.
