On January 27th at 1:30pm Eastern (12:30 pm Central, 10:30am Pacific), VAAC is co-sponsoring an easy, virtual, and vitally important ACTION event, “Call With Us: Board of Prisoners Card Release Act (IDs upon release)“ Withholding IDs is a voter suppression tactic and a criminal justice and economic justice issue with Jews for a Secular Democracy, Black and Pink, and the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO).

In just 45 minutes, we’ll review the pending legislation, give you key talking points, and help you identify your Congressperson and Senators. Then we will all make our calls together!

We are calling in support of the Board of Prisoners Card Release Act. This would provide an ID to people upon their release from federal prisons. This would help remove obstacles to voting, accessing health care, housing and employment.
