VAAC is proud to participate in the 2026 Wrongful Conviction Summit, presented by Project Community, Survivors Speak, and the Michigan Innocence Club at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
The summit brings together exonerees, families of people who have been wrongfully convicted, community activists, and organizations working to address wrongful convictions and inequalities within the criminal legal system.
Attendees will hear firsthand experiences and participate in conversations about wrongful convictions, mass incarceration, and opportunities for community action. The program includes fireside chats, a Q&A panel, and community organization tabling.
Keynote speaker Wendell L. Brown Sr. will share his journey from professional athlete to author, philanthropist, and nonprofit founder following his wrongful imprisonment in China.
