Voting Access For All Coalition will participate in four Metro Detroit events during the Good Trouble Lives On Weekend of Action from July 17 through July 19, 2026.
Good Trouble Lives On is a national, nonpartisan weekend of action honoring the legacy of civil rights leader and longtime U.S. Representative John Lewis. Lewis participated in the Civil Rights Movement through nonviolent action, including efforts to end segregation and protect voting rights. The weekend takes its name from his call to make “good trouble” by taking peaceful action in response to injustice.
The weekend’s events are organized around three themes:
Teach: Learning about civil rights, voting, civic participation, and history.
Reach: Connecting community members with voter education, voting resources, and opportunities to participate.
Preach: Bringing together faith communities to discuss civic participation and voting rights.
All Good Trouble Lives On events are nonpartisan and committed to peaceful, nonviolent action.
VAAC will speak at each event listed below. Our team will also provide nonpartisan voter education, help community members register to vote or check their registration, and answer questions about voting in Michigan.
