A Free Community Event Supporting Voting Access and Civic Participation

Having the right identification is essential for daily life — securing housing, accessing services, and fully participating in civic processes. On 5 de diciembre, VAAC and the Ypsilanti District Library will co-host Reclama tu identidad, reclama tu poder, an event designed to help community members obtain or update essential identification documents.

This event provides guidance, direct support, and resources to ensure that every person has what they need to navigate ID systems with confidence. Whether you need help gathering paperwork, completing forms, or understanding next steps, volunteers and library staff will be ready to assist.
