Building Power, Connection, and Courage Across Michigan
VAAC is proud to co-host two powerful events this weekend that bring together community voices, shared learning, and collective action ahead of Election Day. From East Lansing to Ferndale, we’re creating spaces to uplift stories, strengthen democracy, and remind one another that our voices matter.
Saturday, Nov. 1 — Storytelling for Change in East Lansing
11:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Michigan Education Association, 1350 Kendale Blvd, East Lansing, MI
¿Cómo afectarían los cambios propuestos a la ley electoral su poder y su voto? Ahora es el momento de contar su historia y defender su derecho constitucional al voto.
Join VAAC, Common Cause, All Voting is Local, and Voters Not Politicians for a Storytelling Workshop designed to help community members share experiences that drive civic engagement and systemic change. Learn how personal stories can move hearts, shift narratives, and inspire participation. Lunch will be provided.
Sunday, Nov. 2 — “Don’t Let the Vote Scare You” Brunch, Ferndale

Affirmations LGBTQ+ Community Center, 290 W 9 Mile Rd, Ferndale, MI
Wrap up the weekend with food, music, and conversation at a Pre-Election Brunch hosted by Michigan LCV, Affirmations, and VAAC. We’ll gather to connect, share resources, and make sure every voter feels confident heading into Election Day.
