Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries will host a Community Outreach Day of Prayer at the Christian Guidance Center in Detroit.

The afternoon will bring community members together for free food, toiletries and community resources, clothing and other essentials, music, prayer, and fellowship.

Annual Back to School Drive

Destined to Overcome Ministries will host its Annual Back to School Drive in Southfield with school supplies, children’s clothing, live music, movement, family activities, mental health awareness, and other resources.

Make Them Safe, Keep Them Safe

Make Them Safe, Keep Them Safe will bring families together at Rouge Range for an afternoon focused on gun safety and community resources.

Attendees can learn gun safety information and receive free gun locks. The event will also include free food, children’s haircuts, a video game truck, a bounce house, and other family activities.

VAAC will be on site providing voter and civic education and helping eligible community members register to vote.

Councilwoman-At-Large Mary Waters and Councilwoman Latisha Johnson will host their Annual Community BBQ at Commemoration Park.

Michigan N.O.W.: Black Men’s Assemble

Michigan N.O.W. (Neighborhoods Over War) is calling Black men from across Michigan to gather in Flint for Black Men’s Assemble.

Black men, teens, and boys of all ages are invited to participate, with attendees expected from Flint, Detroit, Saginaw, Pontiac, Lansing, Kalamazoo, and communities across Southeast and West Michigan.
