VAAC will be out in the community during the final days of July, sharing voting information, helping eligible residents register to vote, and connecting people with resources for Michigan’s August 4 Primary Election.

Get Out to Vote in Detroit

The City of Detroit Department of Elections will host a full day of community resources, entertainment, children’s activities, and voter information.

VAAC will be there to answer questions, share voting rights information, and help eligible residents register to vote.

Pull Up, Turn Out: Get Out the Vote in Ypsilanti

Survivors Speak, the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation, the Family Empowerment Program, and the Ypsilanti Housing Commission invite residents to a community event featuring voter education, family activities, food, fun, and prize giveaways.

VAAC will provide voting information and help eligible residents register to vote.

Party at the Hub and Rides to the Polls

Detroit residents can gather for free food and community activities and receive a free ride to vote early in person.

VAAC will be at two Party at the Hub locations to provide voter education and registration support.

Learn Directly From Michigan County Clerks

VAAC will not be tabling at this virtual Lunch and Learn, but we encourage community members to attend and hear directly from two Michigan county clerks about election security.

Michiganders for Civic Resilience will host Kent County Clerk Lisa Posthumus Lyons and Oakland County Clerk Lisa Brown for a conversation about how elections are administered and protected. Participants will also have an opportunity to ask questions.

Angela Davenport Featured in MDCR Spotlight Series

VAAC Executive Director Angela Davenport will be a featured speaker during the Michigan Department of Civil Rights Spotlight Series program, “Ensuring Voter Rights Through Transparent Governance.”

The free community event will focus on voting rights, protections against discrimination, and resources available to people whose rights have been violated.

Other featured speakers include representatives from the Michigan Department of State, Detroit Disability Power, and the Detroit NAACP.
