One year into a period of deep national tension, many communities are experiencing increased fear, instability, and harm. Across the country, people are confronting immigration enforcement actions, expanded surveillance, threats to civil liberties, and attacks on marginalized communities, including trans people and immigrants. Families are being separated, communities disrupted, and many feel pressured into silence.
On January 20 at 2 PM local time, people are coming together to take collective action. Participants will walk out of work, school, and commerce to pause normal activity and make visible the demand for dignity, safety, and accountability. This is a coordinated act of protest rooted in the belief that meaningful change requires public participation and collective refusal to accept harm as normal.
This action is both a protest and a commitment: to stand against policies and practices that cause fear and exclusion, and to stand for a future grounded in freedom, belonging, and shared responsibility.
★ We walk away from systems that rely on fear and exclusion.
★ We walk toward a society rooted in freedom and dignity.
★ We commit to a future that belongs to everyone.
★ Everybody in, nobody out.
