In this new year, Voting Access For All Coalition (VAAC) remains committed to protecting and expanding voting access and building civic power for people impacted by incarceration, poverty, housing instability, and systemic barriers.
2026 is a critical year for our democracy and for our communities. Across Michigan and the country, we are facing ongoing threats to voting access, civil rights, and the dignity of people most impacted by the criminal legal system. At the same time, we are witnessing powerful organizing, courageous leadership, and a growing determination to protect and expand civic power.
The year ahead brings important opportunities to organize, educate, and mobilize our communities. We look forward to continuing this work alongside our partners, members, and supporters.
Voting Access For All Coalition enters this year focused, aligned, and ready. Our work will continue to center jail voting, civic education, community leadership development, policy advocacy, and voter access and outreach. We will build together, organize with intention, and move toward the 2026 midterms with clarity and resolve.
VAAC Friday meetings will return as a space for connection, shared learning, and collective strategy. We look forward to reconnecting with familiar faces and welcoming new community members into this work.
Thank you for being part of this movement. We build civic power and defend the right to vote when we stand strong together. Happy New Year 2026 from our VAAC family to yours!
