 ated people as residents of the places where prisons are located rather th
 an in the communities where they are from and where their families live. U
 nder this system\, incarcerated people end up being “represented” by e
 lected officials who they cannot vote for and who have no connection to th
 eir family\, friends\, neighborhoods\, or political communities.\n\n\n\nJo
 in us as we work to end prison gerrymandering in Michigan and ensure that 
 everyone has access to resources that improve the quality of life in our c
