 nity for Prisoners present Behind Our Walls\, recipient of the 2023 Grand 
 Rapids Film Festival's Best Documentary Award\, at Monroe Community Church
 \, 1020 Monroe Ave NW\, Grand Rapids\, MI 49503\, on Tuesday\, March 5th a
 t 7:00 pm. This film tells the story of eight Michigan prisoners in Handlo
 n Correctional Facility and the educational program that brought them toge
 ther\, the Calvin Prison Initiative. This is a free screening\, as there i
 s no cost to attend.\n\n\n\nCrossroads Prison Ministries connects people i
 n prisons with mentors from churches to study God’s word together throug
 h our mail-based study program. Unlikely friendships emerge as mentors sha
 re encouraging feedback and write letters with every lesson. For many stud
 ents\, their Crossroads lessons and letters are the only mail they receive
 .\n\n\n\nHumanity for Prisoners is a non-profit organization that has been
  in existence for 22 years and has assisted some 10\,000 Michigan prisoner
 s. HFP president\, Mark Hartman\, will also show a short film about the wo
 rk and mission of HFP.\n
