 ichigan College’s Mendel Center in Benton Harbor\, Michigan — bringin
 g together leaders\, educators\, entrepreneurs\, advocates\, and community
  voices from across the state.\n\nThis year’s theme\, “The Fierce Urg
 ency of Now\,” echoes Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s timeless call to a
 ction — reminding us that progress cannot wait\, and justice cannot be d
 elayed. It is a charge to move with boldness\, unity\, and purpose as we a
 ddress the challenges and opportunities facing Black communities across Mi
 chigan.\nAbout the Summit\nThe Michigan Black Summit is one of the state
 ’s largest gatherings focused on empowerment\, equity\, and community t
 ransformation. Over two dynamic days\, participants will engage in panel
  discussions\, breakout sessions\, and networking opportunities designed 
 to spark collaboration and drive impact.\n\nThe event culminates with the
  Michigan Black Summit Gala\, a night of elegance\, recognition\, and cel
 ebration — featuring live entertainment by Confunkshun\, honoring excel
 lence across Michigan\, and continuing the spirit of progress and pride ro

 ng educational excellence\, equity\, and access — from early childhood t
 o higher education. We’ll explore strategies to close achievement gaps\,
