Para muchos estadounidenses, la libertad de votar est\u00e1 injustamente condicionada al lugar donde viven, el color de su piel o cu\u00e1nto dinero tienen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lo largo de las d\u00e9cadas se han aprobado varias enmiendas a la Constituci\u00f3n de los Estados Unidos que extienden esta libertad fundamental a los votantes de color, las mujeres y los ciudadanos mayores de 18 a\u00f1os. Sin embargo, la falta de una enmienda general que garantice el derecho al voto deja a nuestra democracia vulnerable porque la libertad de votar recibe un trato diferente dependiendo de d\u00f3nde viven los votantes y c\u00f3mo los tribunales manejan las disputas sobre sus derechos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

En su nuevo libro, \u201cUn derecho real al voto\u201d, el profesor de derecho Rick Hasen explica por qu\u00e9 es necesaria una enmienda constitucional y por qu\u00e9 ahora es el momento de iniciar una campa\u00f1a en apoyo de dicha enmienda. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
