Con eso en mente, pensamos en brindarle un informe de estado sobre algunas de las iniciativas de reforma de la justicia penal que hemos estado apoyando este a\u00f1o, comenzando con los paquetes de ley que est\u00e1n m\u00e1s cerca de completar el proceso legislativo:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Comisi\u00f3n de Sentencia<\/strong> (HBs 4173, 4384; Proyectos de ley del Senado 376-377): estos proyectos de ley crear\u00edan una comisi\u00f3n de sentencias (Comisi\u00f3n de Pol\u00edtica de Justicia Penal) que revisar\u00eda y recomendar\u00eda pautas legislativas para sentencias penales en Michigan con el objetivo de sentencias m\u00e1s uniformes y equitativas en todo el estado. Tanto la versi\u00f3n de la C\u00e1mara como la del Senado de los proyectos de ley han sido aprobadas por sus respectivas c\u00e1maras y est\u00e1n esperando acci\u00f3n en el lado opuesto del edificio del Capitolio, lo que podr\u00eda suceder antes de fines de junio.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Documentos Vitales<\/strong> (Proyectos de ley de la C\u00e1mara de Representantes 4191-4194): estos proyectos de ley requerir\u00edan que el estado proporcione a las personas que salen de prisi\u00f3n documentos vitales emitidos por el estado, como una licencia de conducir y un certificado de nacimiento. Estos documentos a menudo se requieren para tareas fundamentales para restablecer la vida fuera de prisi\u00f3n, como conseguir un trabajo o abrir una cuenta bancaria. Estos proyectos de ley han sido aprobados por la C\u00e1mara y est\u00e1n a la espera de una audiencia ante el Comit\u00e9 Senatorial de Derechos Civiles, Judiciales y de Seguridad P\u00fablica. No se espera que eso suceda hasta finales de este a\u00f1o.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Poner fin a la vida juvenil sin libertad condicional<\/strong> (HBs 4160-4164; SBs 119-123): Estos proyectos de ley eliminar\u00edan la posibilidad de sentenciar a una persona menor de 19 a\u00f1os a cadena perpetua sin libertad condicional en Michigan. Ambos conjuntos de proyectos de ley han tenido audiencias ante sus respectivos comit\u00e9s (Comit\u00e9s de Justicia Penal de la C\u00e1mara y Comit\u00e9s de Derechos Civiles, Judicial y de Seguridad P\u00fablica del Senado), pero a\u00fan no se han votado en sus respectivos pisos. Mientras tanto, m\u00e1s estados se unen a la mayor\u00eda de los estados que ya han prohibido la pr\u00e1ctica, con Illinois, Minnesota y Nuevo M\u00e9xico prohibiendo la vida juvenil sin libertad condicional ya en 2023.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cr\u00e9ditos de productividad <\/strong>(HBs 4450-4453): Estos proyectos de ley establecer\u00edan un sistema que permite a las personas que est\u00e1n encarceladas obtener cr\u00e9ditos para la elegibilidad de libertad condicional antes al completar programas educativos o vocacionales o alcanzar otras metas. Estos proyectos de ley han tenido una audiencia ante el Comit\u00e9 de Justicia Penal de la C\u00e1mara, pero a\u00fan no han sido votados en el Pleno de la C\u00e1mara.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Segundo vistazo<\/strong> (HBs 4556-4560; SBs 321-25): Estos proyectos de ley de &quot;Segunda mirada&quot; crear\u00edan una oportunidad para que las personas que han cumplido 10 a\u00f1os de una sentencia de prisi\u00f3n comparezcan ante la junta de libertad condicional (nota: este plan no confiere la garant\u00eda de libertad condicional, s\u00f3lo la oportunidad de presentarse ante la junta de libertad condicional).
