As Michigan prepares for the November 3 General Election, organizers across the state are getting ready for No Kings: Vote Early<\/a><\/strong>, a day of rallies and community events on Saturday, October 17, focused on voter registration, early voting, and helping people understand their voting rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You cannot vote while you are currently serving a sentence in jail or prison.<\/strong> But a past conviction does not take away your right to vote in Michigan once you are no longer serving a jail or prison sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are being held in jail while awaiting arraignment, trial, or sentencing, you can still register and vote if you otherwise meet Michigan’s voting eligibility requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The November 3 election is getting closer, but Michigan voters still have time to register and make a voting plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monday, October 19:<\/strong> Last day to register to vote or update your registration online or by mail for the November 3 election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting Tuesday, October 20:<\/strong> You can still register or update your registration in person at your city or township clerk’s office with proof of residency, through 8:00 PM on Election Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday, October 24:<\/strong> Michigan’s required statewide early in-person voting period begins. It runs through November 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday, November 3:<\/strong> Election Day. Polls are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can check your voter registration, find your local clerk, and look up your early voting location at mi.gov\/voto<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join VAAC at No Kings: Vote Early in Oak Park on October 17!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

VAAC will join Concerned Citizens of Oak Park Area (CCOPA) for a community-focused No Kings: Vote Early rally this Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VAAC’s Christopher Ford will be among the speakers<\/strong>, and we’ll have a VAAC table where community members can get voter education, voter registration support, and information about their ballots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will also feature music, community art, food, activities for kids, and information about voting early that participants can share with their neighbors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
