El 20 de julio de 2022, la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Genesee (GCSO) hizo historia al organizar el primer foro de candidatos a la alcald\u00eda para personas detenidas dentro de la c\u00e1rcel. El evento fue organizado a trav\u00e9s de GCSO ENCENDER<\/a> programa cuya misi\u00f3n es \u201celiminar el encarcelamiento generacional a trav\u00e9s de la educaci\u00f3n, restaurando el valor, la esperanza y el prop\u00f3sito de nuestra poblaci\u00f3n carcelaria\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los tres candidatos a alcalde asistieron y hablaron con los detenidos en la c\u00e1rcel. Los reclusos tambi\u00e9n tuvieron la oportunidad de hacer preguntas a los candidatos.
