{"id":264439,"date":"2026-08-06T15:15:21","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T19:15:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/votingaccessforall.org\/?p=264439"},"modified":"2026-08-06T15:15:23","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T19:15:23","slug":"in-her-honor-detroit-three-days-of-art-remembrance-and-maternal-health-justice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/votingaccessforall.org\/es\/2026\/08\/in-her-honor-detroit-three-days-of-art-remembrance-and-maternal-health-justice\/","title":{"rendered":"In Her Honor Detroit: Three Days of Art, Remembrance, and Maternal Health Justice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From August 26 through August 28, Mothering Justice, The ARIAH Foundation, Omari Maynard, and community partners will present In Her Honor Detroit, a three-day experience dedicated to honoring mothers lost to maternal mortality and advancing maternal health justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through film, community conversation, storytelling, celebration, and art, In Her Honor Detroit will bring together families, advocates, artists, healthcare professionals, policymakers, birth workers, and community members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The events will honor the lives and legacies of Black mothers and birthing people whose stories continue to shape the movement for safer pregnancies, better care, accountability, and systemic change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"aftershock-screening-and-afterglow\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Aftershock<\/em><\/strong><strong> Screening and Afterglow<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Her Honor Detroit begins with a special screening of the documentary <em>Aftershock<\/em> at the Detroit Institute of Arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the film, attendees will gather for an Afterglow reception and community discussion.
