The bill package, Senate Bills <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legislature.mi.gov\/documents\/2025-2026\/billintroduced\/Senate\/pdf\/2026-SIB-0961.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">961<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legislature.mi.gov\/Bills\/Bill?ObjectName=2026-SB-0962\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">962<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legislature.mi.gov\/Bills\/Bill?ObjectName=2026-SB-0963\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">963<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legislature.mi.gov\/Bills\/Bill?ObjectName=2026-SB-0964\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">964<\/a>, would create state-level voting rights protections in Michigan.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">VAAC has shared previous updates explaining what the <strong>Michigan Voting Rights Act<\/strong> would do and what has changed in the legislative process. I\u2019m calling to say that I support Senate Bills 961 through 964, the Michigan Voting Rights Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Michigan voters deserve strong protections against voting discrimination, barriers to the ballot, and unfair representation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now is the time to pass the Michigan Voting Rights Act because protecting every Michigan voter is critical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thank you.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can also add a sentence about why voting access is important to you, your family, or your community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is in the Michigan Voting Rights Act<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/legislature.mi.gov\/documents\/2025-2026\/billanalysis\/Senate\/pdf\/2026-SFA-0961-G.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">According to the Senate bill summary, the Michigan Voting Rights Act package would create protections related to voter denial, voter dilution, voter suppression, language access, voter assistance, and public information about election administration.&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bills have not become law yet.
