La semana pasada, la Coalici\u00f3n de Acceso al Voto para Todos (VAAC) fue nombrada Organizaciones homenajeadas en 2026 con el Premio a los Defensores de la Comunidad <\/strong>por el Bloque de votantes ap\u00e1ticos.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La directora ejecutiva, Angela Davenport, acept\u00f3 el premio en nombre del VAAC. El premio reconoci\u00f3 tanto a la organizaci\u00f3n como el liderazgo de Angela en el avance de esta labor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El bloque de votantes ap\u00e1ticos<\/a> es una organizaci\u00f3n de participaci\u00f3n c\u00edvica enfocada en fomentar la participaci\u00f3n de los votantes y ayudar a las comunidades a conectarse con informaci\u00f3n accesible sobre el proceso electoral.<\/strong> Su trabajo se centra en ayudar a m\u00e1s personas a comprender la el poder de su voz y su voto<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Este reconocimiento destaca el trabajo continuo del VAAC Construir poder c\u00edvico con comunidades que hist\u00f3ricamente han enfrentado barreras a la participaci\u00f3n en nuestra democracia<\/strong>. En todo Michigan, VAAC interact\u00faa directamente con personas afectadas por el encarcelamiento, la inestabilidad de la vivienda y la exclusi\u00f3n sist\u00e9mica a trav\u00e9s de la educaci\u00f3n de votantes, el desarrollo de liderazgo c\u00edvico y la divulgaci\u00f3n directa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nuestro trabajo se basa en la creencia de que crece la participaci\u00f3n c\u00edvica<\/strong> cuando las personas tienen informaci\u00f3n clara, relaciones de confianza y oportunidades significativas para participar en el proceso democr\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
