En recuerdo del legado del Dr. King y en honor a su lucha por la justicia, el fin de semana de #MLK, domingo 16 de enero, varios cientos de organizadores, activistas, amigos y familiares, miembros de la comunidad afectados por la justicia y anteriormente encarcelados y ciudadanos preocupados se reunieron para denunciar el abuso y la negligencia en la prisi\u00f3n de mujeres de Huron Valley. Una gran cantidad de medios de comunicaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n estuvieron presentes para presenciar a los oradores, los c\u00e1nticos, los letreros y la tormenta de Twitter en curso centrada en exponer las condiciones abominables de la prisi\u00f3n de Huron Valley y para elevar el llamado de atenci\u00f3n de MLK de que \u201c\u00a1La injusticia en cualquier lugar es una amenaza para la justicia en todas partes!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La gente vive en condiciones inhumanas e inconstitucionales. Si trat\u00e1ramos a los animales de esta manera, alguien llamar\u00eda a PETA o ASPCA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Las instalaciones abarrotadas y con pocos recursos que est\u00e1n llenas de personas que tienen otras enfermedades cr\u00f3nicas son una tormenta perfecta para grandes brotes de COVID. Lo que sucede en la prisi\u00f3n de mujeres de Huron Valley no se queda all\u00ed. No se debe permitir que contin\u00fae la conspiraci\u00f3n de silencio que ha envuelto a la prisi\u00f3n durante tanto tiempo. Necesitamos supervisi\u00f3n comunitaria para el Centro Correccional de Mujeres de Huron Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SB 487 crear\u00e1 un Comit\u00e9 de Supervisi\u00f3n Asesor Comunitario para la \u00fanica prisi\u00f3n de mujeres de Michigan.
