SUMMARY:VAAC Statewide Jail Voting Work Group
DESCRIPTION:Voting Access for All Coalition (VAAC) is convening a Statewide
  Jail Voting Work Group to strengthen access to the ballot for eligible vo
 ters detained in jails across Michigan.\nIn Michigan\, people who are awai
 ting trial or not serving a sentence remain eligible to vote. Yet access i
 s not consistent\, and in many cases depends on the county where someone i
 s detained.\nThis work group brings together partners across the state to 
 build coordinated strategies that ensure voting access is consistent\, reg
 ardless of geography.\nDuring this meeting\, VAAC will share updates on th
 e statewide strategy and outline next steps\, including ways to get involv
 ed.\nIf you work in or around jails\, are engaged in reentry or civic educ
