DESCRIPTION:Citizens for Prison Reform invites you to join us for our 15th
  Annual Legislative Education Day\, “Building Bridges to a Safer Michiga
 n: Advancing Justice\, Supporting Families\, and Strengthening Communities
 \,” on Tuesday\, June 16\, 2026\, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This impac
 tful event will take place on the Capitol Lawn at 100 N. Capitol Ave.\, La
 nsing\, MI 48933.\n\nFor 15 years\, CPR’s Legislative Education Day has 
 provided a crucial platform for families\, advocates\, community members\,
  and policymakers to come together and address urgent issues within our ju
 stice system.\n\nThis year’s theme reflects a simple truth: safer commun
 ities are built through rehabilitation\, accountability\, strong family co
 nnection\, and fair\, equitable policies that do not create unnecessary fi
 nancial burdens for people and their families.\n\nThis day centers familie
 s because they are a foundation for safety\, successful rehabilitation\, a
 nd meaningful reentry. Together\, we will create space for real conversati
 ons around oversight\, visitation\, access to programming\, and the condit
 ions impacting families\, our incarcerated loved ones\, and the communitie
 s they return to.\n\nWe are honored to welcome Priscilla Bordayo\, Surviv
 or\, National Advocate\, and Transformational Speaker with Crime Survivors
  Speak\, as our special guest.\n\nWe are also proud to feature Cassie Lar
 rieux of Safe &amp\; Just Michigan\, who will speak on the report “Debt
 ors in Prison” and the impact of financial burdens within the prison sys
 tem.\n\nWe will also have our model solitary cell experience available to 
 provide a powerful and visceral understanding of the realities of isolatio
